TUYISENGE CHISLON

Tuyisenge Chislon, a Rwandan -based artist born in 1997, is a self-taught visual artist, photographer, and traditional dancer. Inspired by nature and the in- fluence of art in diverse societies worldwide, his work passionately focuses on African wildlife, nature, and the daily lives of people. From an early age, Chislon demonstrated his artistic inclination by sculpting small animals from mud and wires and sketching with various pencils. Though unaware of his artistic talent at the time, he eventually recognized his calling and pursued art as a career. Venturing into different art galleries in Rwanda and immersing himself in museums and art centers, he honed his skills and discovered his identity as an artist.

Chislon's creative process involves using various media, including acrylic paints, oil, watercolors, and textiles, to imbue his artworks. Since 2017, he has been dedicated to producing creative pieces and collaborating with both local and international artists on projects aimed at healing and inspiring communities.

Beyond his personal artistic endeavors, Chislon is passionate about sharing his skills with communities to effect positive change, particularly among the youth. He actively engages in teaching and conducting children's art workshops, aiming to nurture creativity and enrich lives through art.
